Saint-Barthélemy
The island, from here.
Twenty-two beaches, one harbour town, and an airport about ten minutes from almost everything. Saint-Barthélemy is small enough that nothing is far, and quiet enough that most days still begin and end at the house.
Flamands and Colombier for the morning swim, Saint-Jean for lunch, Gustavia for dinner and the boats. Our notes on where to swim, eat and sail are written as we can vouch for them.

01 Where you are
The north-west coast, above the bay.
Located on the heights of Anse des Cayes, with views toward Saint-Jean Bay and the surrounding hills. It is a quiet hillside quartier with little passing traffic.
Gustavia is about six minutes down the hill, the airport about five, and Saint-Jean about eight on the far side of the runway. Nothing on the island is much more than a quarter of an hour from the door.
Saint-Barthélemy is French, hilly and small: a week here is spent choosing between beaches rather than driving between them, and most days still begin and end at the house.

Every drive time here was computed from routing data rather than estimated, and each one is approximate: the island’s roads are steep and single-track in places. The villa is marked approximately; the exact address is shared with confirmed guests.
